SAMPLE ASSIGNMENTS

Calgary's assignments have been diverse and have encompassed both corporate finance transactions and operating management business issues. Corporate finance engagements have included transactions that involve raising senior debt and equity, as well as having a leasing component. Managerial assignments have included being a member of the operating management team in a company turnaround and addressing business marketing issues.

The following are a sample of the assignments with which Calgary has been involved:

  • Business consulting to a manufacturing firm with subsidiaries in the mining and printing industries. This consulting assigment encompassed advising on developing and implementing financial and operational strategies for the establishment, funding and growth of an asset-based subsidiary company. The initial capital to fund the company would be obtained by the sale-and-leaseback of assets acquired with collateralized debt, which, together with equity would provide the necessary funds to properly capitalize the company.
  • Provided senior financial operating management and capital restructuring services to a finance company in the secured debt and leasing industry. Also, provided financial advisory and investment banking services to a franchiser in the auto-after market industry. Both assignments involved developing and implementing alternative operational and financial options. These options included the following:

    1. Raising debt and equity capital with institutional investors

    2. Reorganization of both the management and capital structure

    3. Merger and/or the sale of the companies.
  • Provided financial advisory services and/or represented several manufacturing companies for sale, two owned by a publicly listed (NYSE) parent firm.
  • Calgary provided investment banking services, to an early stage company in the food industry. These services consisted of the following:


    1. Reviewing and recommending revisions to the business plan.


    2. Assisting with the identification and recruitment of executives to the management team.


    3. The identification and presentation of the transaction to financial institutions and strategic investors, capable of investing a minimum of $15 million of equity in this company.
